Ah yes, real estate. Easy money or a mug’s game? And as for the agents! High flying champions or low life swindlers out to get you?! We all have our preconceptions, but if you ever wondered what the reality was ‘on the ground’ then SOLD On The Dream lifts the veil on this somewhat murky world in a distinctly humorous, but disarmingly honest, exposé of the inner workings.
SOLD on the Dream will entertain and inform anyone with a passing interest in property, with some useful insights for buyers/sellers, shrewd investors and a few would-be agents!
A thoroughly enjoyable read, highlighting both the glamorous and not-so-glamorous side of real estate. In this reveal-all expose ‘Secret Agent' Michael Blackmoor has managed to capture accurately and wittingly what makes the real estate world so unique, as well as describe the behavioural traits of some fiends — I mean, ‘friends’ — in our industry! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has had to deal with a real estate agent. A light-hearted take on a profession that changes day to day, and always has a riveting story to tell.
Having worked with Michael, and experienced the emotional roller coaster ride of real estate with its highs and lows, this book is perfectly relatable. A witty and honest take on the day-to-day grind of our industry for many, that debunks much of the pretence and glamour. Plenty of times we have both recounted our experiences, over a coffee, on the quirks and oddities of our chosen profession. Michael has been able to capture this amusing content in a way that is not only funny, but also a true indication of the many facets of the complex role of an agent. Enjoy a glimpse of life on the inside!
I found this book relatable and entertaining. It offers the reader a wonderful, and sometimes hilarious or quirky, insight into the 'real' life of a real estate agent. A 'must read' for anyone in the industry.
I was born and raised in the oh-so-sunny United Kingdom, and toiled away for the first part of my working life ‘up in the smoke’ of London with the requisite, long, daily commute.
In mid-life, even sunnier Queensland beckoned, resulting in a move to my wife’s home state. An exciting new country and a dynamic new career awaited!
Well, Australia lived up to its billing, just not quite so sure about the day job yet …
